Established in Oxfordshire, KINDLY is an award-winning residential interior design studio, founded in Oxford and soon to be based on Burford High Street. We specialise in bespoke interior design for country houses and town homes across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, creating calm, considered interiors rooted in natural materials, crafted detail and biophilic design principles. Our work carefully balances proportion, daylight and materiality to deliver timeless, refined homes that feel grounded, elegant and enduring.

  • Understanding the house and how you live
    We begin with a considered conversation about your home, its setting, and how you want it to work day to day. Many Cotswold properties come with history, quirks and constraints, and we take time to understand what should be preserved, what can evolve, and how the house needs to support modern living.

  • Shaping a clear design direction
    From there, we develop a cohesive design narrative that respects the architecture and landscape. This includes material palettes, proportion, atmosphere and flow, ensuring the scheme feels appropriate to the house and enduring rather than trend-led.
  • Technical detail and crafted solutions
    We produce detailed drawings and specifications, including layouts, bespoke joinery, lighting, and finishes. Particular care is given to natural materials, craftsmanship and detailing that will age beautifully in a country setting.
  • Guided delivery with trusted local trades
    We oversee sourcing and guide implementation, working closely with skilled local joiners, stonemasons, upholsterers and builders across the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire. This ensures continuity of intent from concept through to installation.
  • Final layering and completion
    Once the main works are complete, we refine and finish the space through careful styling. Art, antiques, textiles and lighting are layered thoughtfully so the house feels settled, personal and ready to live in.

Biophilic and Crafted Design

Meticulously chosen natural materials and considered composition reconnect interiors with their landscape and the passing seasons. Timber, stone, wool and soft leathers are selected for tactility, provenance and heirloom quality, while daylight and texture shape rooms that feel both restorative and composed. Bespoke joinery and handcrafted furniture introduce measured scale and singular detail, and restrained material contrasts provide quiet relief and lasting interest. The result is a discreet luxury, a sensory architecture of interiors that supports wellbeing with subtlety and rewards daily life.

A Burford Studio With Local Perspective

We have approached our Burford High Street studio with the intention of working in step with the town’s daily rhythm. Being here allows us to understand how Burford and the surrounding Cotswolds villages are actually lived in, from the early morning light along the high street to the quieter lanes beyond the Windrush.

Our Interior Designer Libby, a Burford local, brings deep-rooted knowledge and an assured eye for sourcing. She knows where to look beyond the obvious, from established antique dealers and specialist upholsterers to galleries such as Brian Sinfield and Drang, and the lesser-known corners of Stow-on-the-Wold and Tetbury where truly exceptional pieces are found. This insider understanding shapes how we source, specify, and layer individuality into each scheme.

That familiarity extends beyond interiors. We understand the culture that informs how homes are used, whether it’s evenings at The Bull, long lunches near Daylesford, time spent at Estelle Manor, or the cafés and boutiques locals return to quietly, week after week. These relationships matter. They allow us to commission made-to-measure furniture, source one-off antiques, collaborate with skilled joiners, stonemasons and landscapers, and create interiors that feel entirely at ease with their surroundings.

The result is design that belongs to Burford and the wider Cotswolds, informed, individual, and deeply connected to place.

Visit Our Burford Studio

Our interior design studio is located at 34 Lower High Street, Burford, OX18 4RR, and will open its doors in April 2026. Meanwhile, we continue to operate from our South Oxfordshire studio.

Studio visits will be by appointment, allowing us to give each project the time and attention it deserves.
