Sustainable Christmas - Upcycling Old Decorations
If you are short on time and unable to make your own eco Christmas decorations from scratch, we have a few little tricks for upgrading old Christmas decorations and making them a little more luxurious.
Velvet Ribbons
First off, switch the skinny threads traditionally used for hanging baubles on trees and instead invest in some narrow velvet ribbon in rich jewel colours. These will last years, look so much more luxurious and make removing the decorations from the tree so much easier.
Fabric Wrapped Baubles
Wrapping your old baubles in scrap fabric is another way to upcycle what you already have. By gathering and tying a thin fabric around your baubles, you can change out the colour scheme easily each year.
Fabric Decorations
Last year we created Poinsetta flowers out of scrap fabric, no sewing was involved! Simply a pair of pinking sheers and string, and voila, you have some fabulous flowers to adorn your tree.
